Unable to Contact Your Reseller?

You are at this website for one of three reasons:

  • Your reseller has gone out of business
  • Your reseller has stopped answering support requests
  • Your reseller is not complying with requests regarding your domain

In all likelihood, a support representative at Enom or ModernDNS has referred you to this page. Please read it carefully and comply with all of the requests made of you. Domain names can have an inherent value greatly in excess of their purchase price. Therefore these systems are design by ICANN and eNom to ensure that your interests are protected as much as possible.

The Parties: There are several parties to this transaction. Please note the diagram below for their relative positions:

Enom ---> ModernDNS ---> Reseller ---> Domain Holder
The Registrar Makers of Plesk Billing Sold You the Domain You

Within this hierarchy, there is only ONE party with access to your domain. That is your reseller. ModernDNS does NOT have access to the reseller account and cannot perform any account maintenance until we have successfully removed your domain from the resellers account and put it into an account of your own. The following steps are what we do to make this happen.

  • You must submit a ticket with us by Clicking Here
  • In this ticket we need 3 pieces of information:
    • The Domain Name (purchase dates and site where you bought them if you have it)
    • Contact information so we can reach you if necessary (your name, company name, email addresses and phone number)
    • An affirmative statement from you stating who your reseller is, how you have attempted to reach your reseller, and that they were not responsive.

After we receive the ticket, we attempt to contact the reseller on your behalf. The requests we send to them indicate that they have 24 hours to reply to us or the domain will be moved.

If the reseller is responsive, we allow them to assist their customer.

If the reseller is unresponsive, then we will submit a request to eNom to move your domain to an account that you will be creating. This should take from 24 business hours to 48 business hours.

To create an account for yourself, go to ModernDNS.net. After you create your account, report the account name back to your ticket.

Please be aware that before the domain can be moved, you will be required to submit a photocopy of your Driver's License (or other similar government issued photo identification) to eNom to verify identity. The fax # for this is 1-502-371-4696.

Finally, after our confirmation email to you that the domain has been moved, you will be able to login to ModernDNS.net to manage your domain.

Helpful Hints

If your not sure who your reseller is, go to Enom Help and put your domain name in the Reseller Information Retrieval Tool.

To have any domain moved, you or your company MUST be listed in the whois contact information as the registrant. If it is not, there is nothing we can do to change it. To check the whois information go to Enom's Whois Tool and insert your domain name.

This process takes time and can sometimes take several days depending on the circumstance. We understand that every customer who comes to this page is have an emergency. However, you may inadvertantly delay the process of servicing your domain if you repeatedly reply back on your own ticket with a request for an update. Our ticketing system puts the tickets in order of their last reply and you will move yourself down the queue if you repond in this manner.
